This organization is set up in 1992 by Bharat J. Mehta, Chemical Engineer from University Institute of Chemical Technology, (formerly UDCT), University of Mumbai, followed by M.B.A. from Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, with an outstanding record althroughout.

Prior to consultancy, Mr. Mehta had rich experience for over two decades in renowned organizations and diverse industries, such as Chemicals, Electricals, Engineering, Electronics, Textiles and others, as Chief of Operations or Project.  By virtue, of his experience, he has specialized in the field of Strategic Planning, Diversifications, Corporate Restructuring, Organization Development, MIS and IT systems, ISO 9001: 2000 Quality Management Systems (QMS), Contracts Negotiations for Industrial Markets and Projects, Foreign Collaborations, Industrial Marketing Strategy and other management areas, which have been focus of our consultancy services.

Mr. Mehta worked as Chief Executive and Advisor (Projects) with The Arvind Mills Ltd. (Lalbhai Group) at Ahmedabad, during 1985-91.

Mr. Mehta taught Industrial Marketing at M.B.A. Programme of Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, as a Visiting Professor during 1985-1994.

Mr. Mehta has been Certified Management Consultant (CMC), awarded by The Institute of Management Consultants of India (IMCI), founder member of ICMCI, globally recognised among forty countries in the world. As active member of IMCI, he served IMCI as Chairman, Ahmedabad Chapter, Regional Representative - West (National) and Honorary Treasurer (National) in the past.

1992-onwards: Director, VIJAYANT CONSULTANTS, Management and Project Consultants, (Own Proprietorship Firm) with a record of distinguished assignments for renowned industries.  For example,
  • Total Project Consultancy from Concept to Commissioning for Wind Farm Development.  Set up 6.2 MW Wind Farm for a large Industrial Group.  Was associated with other 40 MW capacity Wind Farms under implementation and/ or proposed.
  • Detailed study report on ‘Captive and Group-Captive Wind Power Projects’ for a Wind Farm Developer, desirous of entering into wind energy sector. The assignment involved in-depth study and working of (a) policies and rules of central and state Governments/ Ministries and renewable energy development agencies; (b) Electrical energy sector as a whole; (c)  Entry barriers for wind energy developers and consumers; (d) Techno-economic feasibility from Investor’s perspective ; and (e) Strategy formulation and action plan for the developer (client).
  • Comparative evaluation of captive power plants (including co-gen) based on fossil fuels, wind and solar energy. Implementation of gas-based captive power plant.

  • Profit Centre Head for the company engaged in the manufacture, marketing and export of Industrial Chemicals, with strong in-house R&D base.

1972-1979 Executive Manager, Voltamp Transformers Ltd., Vadodara, India
  • Company was a leading manufacturer of Power and Distribution Transformers. Was responsible for total general management functions and performance of the company.
  • Responsible for turn-around of the company when caught in 1973 middle-east oil crisis and firmly established the marketing base for further growth, in competition with multinationals in a capital goods industry.

1970-1972 Project Officer, Grindwell Norton Ltd., Mumbai, India
  • Worked on a green-field project for abrasive grains, starting from scratch, covering licensing, MRTP clearances, location and mineral-resource surveys, and feasibility study for a multinational, world’s largest in abrasives industry.
  • Responsible for Management Staff Functions for another pioneering abrasive grains project under implementation.
